Join the Cruise Express team for this Opera 'extravaganza' on Sydney Harbour Outdoor La Traviata Opera and Weekend Sydney Harbour Cruise Package A spectacular outdoor performance of Verdi’s romantic opera, La Traviata, on Sydney Harbour next March has been combined with a weekend harbour cruise in a new package released by Cruise Express. In March, 2012, La Traviata will be performed under the stars on a large stage positioned on Sydney Harbour near the Botanic Gardens, backdropped by the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The lavish production will feature a 40-piece orchestra, huge sets, special effects and a nine-metre chandelier suspended above the stage. Cruise Express has included the spectacle with a two-night cruise on Sydney Harbour aboard Captain Cook’s Explorer. Tailored to opera and cruise lovers around Australia, the exclusive itinerary will see passengers set sail on the harbor at 6pm on Friday, March 30, 2012, and return to dock at 3pm on Sunday, April 1. The weekend cruise to all corners of the harbor will include shore excursions as well as all onboard meals and drinks with dinner. The 100-passenger Captain Cook Cruises vessel offers inside and outside cabins with ensuites, a dining room, cocktail bar with panoramic harbour views, a lounge, library and sun deck where you can take in the scenery. The package includes the two-night cruise and tickets to a performance of La Traviata on Saturday, March 31, 2012, and is available from $899 per person, with solo passengers able to enjoy the weekend without paying a single supplement in some cabin categories.
