Ship Reviews - Celebrity Silhouette
Celebrity Sillhouette
Senior Consultant Trish Campbell sailed on Sihouette from Rome
What was your first impression of Celebrity Silhouette?
From arrival at Civitavecchia (the embarkation port for Rome) until I opened my cabin door the
experience was one of smoothe organisation and an overall professional look and feel Where did you cruise to?
This was a special 3 day cruise for Travel Agents and Media from Europe and Asia. It was a 'cruise to nowhere'
so we did not visit any ports. This was great as it gave us more time to try all the facilities the ship had to offer. What were the highlights of this short cruise?
Celebrity Silhouette is a floating city!. The facilities are so extensive there is really something for everybody!.
For me the highlight was playing barefoot bowls or 'Bocce' on real grass with a glass of champagne in hand. What type of cabin did you have and what was it like?
I had a deluxe Ocean view stateroom with a balcony. The room was elegantly furnished with
good living space including a sitting area and storage. The bathroom was small but well appointed. How was the cuisine and dining?
There are a number of dining options. The Grand Cuvee restaurant is the main dining facility
with first and second seating available. The Oceanview cafe on deck 14 is the buffet offering
with an ever changing variety of food depending on the time of day.
I paid the supplement and dined at the Tuscan Grille which has stunning veiws to the rear
of the ship. The food was equisite and beautifully presented. Up to any first class restaurant standard. What was the entertainment like?
We were assailed by music at every turn! From the Guitar and vocals of Jonny Mantra to sailaway
party music of DJ Contstantine. My favourite was the Manny Kellough Jazz all stars. The celebrity
showtime production of 'Broadway Nights' was a typical theatrical show but well executed and of a high standard. Did you have a favourite area of the ship?
My favourite area was the 'Hideaway'. This is a quite area of the ship with funky pod-style chairs and comfortable alcoves.
I also enjoyed the champagne afternoon tea!
There are many healthy options on board including the AquaSpa cafe which offers
alternative breakfasts and lunch. How would you describe the overall experience on Silhouette?
Again I would say that the range of facilities on board would cater for just about any taste
and whether you are a couple a single or a group you will find something to your taste.
There is so much to see and do on board that three days was nowhere nearly enough. â
