Queen Elizabeth 2011

Media Release – July 3, 2009

Fares and Australian Sectors for Queen Elizabeth’s

Maiden World Voyage Released for Sale

Fares and Australian sectors on the maiden 2011 world voyage of Cunard’s new art deco superliner, Queen Elizabeth, have been released, with cabins on the historic cruise now available through Cruise Express from $5229 per person for a 17-night sector.

The grand liner will circumnavigate the world in early 2011, just three months after her launch in October, 2010.  Carrying the name of her famous predecessor which steered the golden age of ocean cruising through the 1930s, the new 2100-passenger Queen Elizabeth will rendezvous with sister ship, Queen Mary 2, in Sydney on February 22, 2011, and also visit Melbourne on February 25, 2011, and Perth on March 1, 2011.

Although the latest trend is for consumers to wait for last minute travel bargains, demand for the much-anticipated ship’s first world voyage is high, with Cruise Express recommending early booking as soon as possible this year.

Newly released fares and world voyage sectors for Queen Elizabeth include: *

  Sydney to Hong Kong – 17 nights – sailing February 22, 2011 – from $5229 per person
Los Angeles to Sydney – 24 nights – sailing January 29, 2011 – from $6139 per person
Sydney to Singapore – 25 nights – sailing February 22, 2011 – from $7209 per person
Sydney to Dubai - 38 nights – sailing February 22, 2011 – from $9519 per person
Sydney to Southampton (UK) – 56 nights – sailing February 22, 2011 – from $12,499 per person
Southampton to Sydney - 48 nights – sailing January 5, 2011 – from $13,529 per person
New York to Sydney - 40 nights – sailing January 13, 2011 – from $12,229 per person

* The full 103-night world voyage from the UK on January 5, 2011, via North America, the Pacific, Australia, Asia, Asia, Middle East and the Mediterranean is also available from $25,529 per person.

Onboard spending credits of up to $1000 per person are also available on longer sectors, while past Cunard passengers qualify for discounts of up to eight per cent. Many other world voyage sectors are also available.

The new, classically-styled Queen Elizabeth will feature traditional British deck games such as lawn bowls, croquet and paddle tennis. She will also boast a chandeliered ballroom, a glass-roofed garden lounge inspired by UK’s Kew Gardens, a supper club where you can dine and dance under the stars and nostalgic entertainment with tea dances and piano evenings in the style of famous UK entertainer Ivor Novello who was popular in the 1930s when the original Queen Elizabeth was launched.

Bookings can be made with Cruise Express via 1300 766 537 or email cruiseexpress@travelations.com.au. Or visit www.cruiseexpress.com.au.
