Relive the golden era of travel on our first-ever hosted, rail and sail journey from Brisbane - a fun, 6-day adventure by ship and heritage train to Sydney and back this June.

Our rail and sail tour begins in Brisbane with a relaxing 2-night cruise to Sydney aboard Sun Princess. Laze on deck and catch glimpses of the coastline, soak in a jacuzzi, see a show or movie and enjoy delicious cuisine including Curtis Stone’s onboard specialty restaurant, ‘Share’. After making a spectacular entry into Sydney Harbour, you’ll spend 2 nights at the historic Grace Hotel in the heart of the city, with ample free time to see the iconic landmarks, galleries or go shopping. On our second night in Sydney, we’ve included a culinary treat for you – a 3-course gourmet dinner in the glamorous O Bar & Dining revolving restaurant on the 47th floor of the Australia Square building which boasts stunning views of the city. Your visit is also perfectly timed for Sydney's VIVID festival of lights, where the city and harbour bridge are creatively lit with imaginative projections of light - and it's all just steps away!

Next morning, we begin our 2-day rail adventure aboard our privately chartered, 1920's CPH Rail Motors which will be waiting for us at Sydney’s Central Station. Built in Sydney between 1923 and 1926 to service regional NSW, these charming and historic rail motors have windows that open, allowing you to better take in views of the countryside as we travel north towards Queensland. The staff will be available to tell you about the history of the rail motors, their restoration and return to heritage service. After crossing the Hawkesbury River, we’ll stop at the Rail Motor Society’s home in Paterson for morning tea, with time to visit other rail motors in the collection.

Continuing north through ever changing countryside, we’ll enjoy lunch at Taree, with plenty of time to stretch our legs. Tonight in Grafton, situated on the delightful Clarence River, we'll dine at the riverside Crown Hotel with overnight accommodation at the nearby Quality Inn. After a good night’s rest, we’ll rejoin the CPH Rail Motors and head to Casino for morning tea before crossing the border into Queensland and arriving at Brisbane’s Roma Street Station early afternoon, bringing our journey to an end.

Relive the glamorous golden era of travel on this unique and historic, 2,000 kilometre round-trip by sea and rail. You will be escorted by Cruise Express Tour Managers who will look after all the details. All you’ll need to do is enjoy this remarkable adventure, make new friends and have fun. All aboard!
